Hello.
My name is Scott Kolecki, and I am a country music singer/songwriter/guitarist living in the Cleveland area. My musical career began nearly 10 years ago and I have done a great deal with my music since then, including some small contribution to the beginning of the musical career of my friend and fellow musician, Chris Mayor.
I have come to consider Chris one of my closest friends over the years. In recent months, our individual lives have taken us in different directions, but we have always shared a common love of music and a passion for singing and songwriting. I would like to believe that Chris and I are kindred in our desires and dreams when it comes to the world of country music.
Sadly, I post this in the wake of a great loss in the country music industry-the death of Chris LeDoux. Chris Mayor introduced me to this other Chris many years back when he and I were just beginning to dive into our own musical ventures, and it is hard to believe that this talent from whom CM and I learned so much has passed on.
I don't know if this is the appropriate forum to post about Chris LeDoux's passing, as this is a site for introductions, but as CM and I in some ways parallel the relationship that Garth and Chris LeDoux shared-the sharing of talents and friendship for the mutual advancement of our music-I feel a parallel here that is hard to mistake.
CM will certainly tell you about many of the adventures he and I had over the years-singing at dive bars in Mansfield, our four month stint as the friday/saturday night duo at Pearl's Kountry Klub in Lorain, hanging around in his various apartments, or in my basement, at all hours of the night, writing and singing songs about everything from life in the rodeo to chasing your dreams.
I think that the greatest adventures still lie ahead. CM is certainly a growing talent, and though I haven't had the chance to make or play music with him in over a year, I have no doubt that he continues to get better as both a singer and a songwriter. I truly hope that, as he and I move forward in our individual lives, we might once again get together and continue in some way with the dream that we set out upon together so many years ago when we were pent up in a small efficency apartment, watching country music television and strumming guitars until 5 in the morning.
It has been a great adventure so far, hasen't it? And it is only beginning....I know Chris Mayor is going to do well...he is more driven than most anyone I know. Just remember Chris, I will always be here with a guitar in hand should you ever want to write a song, sing a few or just kick back and re-live some of the good ol' days...
